Welcome to She Should Know™!

She Should Know™ is a non-profit organization created to teach young women the skills necessary to be self-sufficient in key areas of their lives.  Our objective is to lay a solid foundation for the young women of today to become successful women of tomorrow, by creating programs that build confidence, teach financial independence, instill good health practices and create positive relationships.

What inspired SHE SHOULD KNOW™?

A few years ago I came across the following quote by Jaqueline Bisset:

“A mode of conduct, a standard of courage, discipline, fortitude and integrity can do a great deal to make a woman beautiful”.

The first thought that came to my mind was “I wish I had read these words when I was younger” and then I realized, without the experiences and relationships that have shaped my life these words would have meant little to my younger self.

As girls or young women,  the most important lessons seem to come from the “school of hard knocks,” and I believe that needs to change.   Each day we deal with the present as a result of what we did in the past.  Perhaps if we knew what we know today we would have actually planned for the future, or perhaps we would have been kinder to ourselves, or even identified and eliminated challenging relationships sooner.   Perhaps we would not have allowed the expectations of others define who we are and maybe we would have better protected our precious bodies. With all the knowledge you have accumulated through experience, circumstance and the passing of time, what would you go back and tell your younger self?

With that in mind, I asked myself what should she have known?  I want to answer that question every day with She Should Know™.

Here’s what to expect:

In addition to our offline programs, we will be exploring the following topics online:

WHAT SHE KNOWS - The best advice (usually unsolicited) I have ever gotten was from other women, telling me what to do, how to do it, when to do to it etc… so, naturally, I asked other women to advise their younger selves on confidence, self-respect, health, wealth and relationships.

GO!DO!BE! - What do you really want to do? What do you want to be?  This section is dedicated to your goals and your dreams, we all have them and we all need a little nudge in the right direction.

HEALTH - Are you healthy? That’s a big one right? We are covering Body, Mind and Soul.

WEALTH - This is about financial independence.  Perhaps you will find something here that makes a difference in your life.

RELATIONSHIPS - The most important relationship is with yourself, but there are all sorts of other people in your life that you deal with and sometimes you just need a little objective advice.

MUSINGS - Sometimes, you just have to laugh or be given fresh food for thought (okay, this is really my random section).

This is She Should Know™.
